6Brian Witlin and Doug Patt met in a design studio where they began to share their unique ideas and support each other's creativity.  After several months of idea collaboration, they formed RootPhi as an idea generation and product design company.

BrianBrian Witlin is cofounder of RootPhi, llc and manages new business development for the company.  Brian's experience in product development is pivotal to the progress and evolution of the RootPhi Project Portfolio. Before starting RootPhi, LLC, Brian founded and ran operations at an Internet startup Leverworks, which he sold two years after its inception.  Brian has a Master of Engineering and Design from Stanford University, and a BA in Business and Economics from Lehigh University.  Brian continues his ties at Stanford University as an appointed lecturer teaching innovation strategy to corporate executives and coaching student project teams at the Hasso Plattner Institute of Design.  Additionally Brian is Entrepreneur in Residence at IDEO and Co-Founder of web start-up shopwell.com.  

doug_copy_bwDoug Patt is cofounder of RootPhi, llc and has managed operations for the company since its inception.  Doug’s experience in project management has helped to take numerous projects from early prototype to market.  He is a registered architect working in the field for almost 15 years, having collaborated on projects in France, Switzerland, Portugal and the USA. He has also been published in a variety of professional journals and magazines as well as worked on projects that have received American Institute of Architects and builders awards in residential architecture. He is an accomplished artist and painter and has architecture degrees from Pennsylvania State University and a Master’s degree in Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania.  See more of his independent work at dougpatt.com.
